Seekers Toasted Oak Wins Big at SFWSC!
4/27/23 SANDUSKY, Oh. – Everwild Spirits is pleased to announce it has been awarded two medals from the prestigious 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC) this past week. Everwild’s Seekers Toasted Oak Cask Finished Bourbon was awarded the coveted Double Gold medallion and has also been selected as one of just three finalists for SFWSC Best In Show award, which will be announced later in June. Along with this preeminent award, Everwild Spirits also received a Silver Medal for its Seekers Wheated Bourbon, Bottled-in-Bond.
“To win a Double Gold for our Seekers Toasted Oak is a great honor and a real validation of our commitment to producing high quality bourbon” Everwild Spirits founder and Chief Flavor Officer (CFO) Gia Gennari-Lynch stated. “To be up against so many nationally distributed brands and to be recognized alongside such elite and established bourbon producers is both humbling and highly motivating.”
The SFWSC is the “Oscars” of spirits competitions, and to earn this prestigious award, their bourbon had to go through three rounds of double-blind tastings with three sets of judges. Throughout the judging, all judges must unanimously agree that the pour deserved to move up the ranks and qualify to compete for “Best in Class.” That’s a lot of hoops for any spirit to get through. There were over 6,000 spirits entered this year and nearly 1/5 of those were whiskeys. So for a single bourbon to rise to the top, it has to be very distinct and absolutely delicious. Other winners of the 2023 Double Gold in this year’s event include Angels Envy, Bardstown and Woodford Reserve. past winners of the Double Gold award include recognizable brands such as Buffalo Trace, Angel’s Envy, Woodford Reserve, Henry McKenna, Four Roses, Elijah Craig and EH Taylor
Everwild Spirits Seekers Bourbon products are only available at Everwild’s distillery and bottle shop in downtown Sandusky, and in official OHLQ retail stores throughout the northern Ohio market. Everwild also just recently launched their online eCommerce sales channel earlier this month through distribution partner BarrelStation.com, so the timing could not be better to make their award winning products available to a national customer base.
Previously, in October, 2022, Everwild’s Seekers Straight Bourbon Whiskey received a Silver Medal at the New York World Spirits Competition (NYWSC). Everwild’s full lineup of bourbon products have now all received recognition for their exceptional quality and taste, just a little over 10 months since they began selling their products to the public back in July of 2022.
